The New 15kVA Victron Quattro

The new 15kVA 48V Victron Quattro will be arriving in March 2017.

For those looking for large battery charging abilities and a high capacity inverter in ONE unit.  This is the highest powered inverter/charger available on the market so far.

The unit is well suited to both completely off grid systems, grid connected PV and other alternative energy systems.

Unlike most combined inverter/chargers the Victron Quattro has two AC inputs – one for mains and one for a generator; or one for each of two generators. This allows integration of devices and no need for a transfer switch between them.

The Quattro also has two AC Outputs , so should there be a grid, shore or generator failure, there is no break in the functionality of the unit. The Quattro takes over the supply to the connected loads. The switch is fast (less than 20 milliseconds) to ensure that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption or loss of data. The second output is only live when AC is available on one of the inputs of the Quattro. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as air-conditioning or a water heater can be connected to this output.

Just Like the MultiPlus the Quattro has the PowerAssist feature to prevent overload of a limited AC source and can be operated in parallel (up to 30 units in 3 sets of 10) to accommodate larger power requirements.

The Quattro is easy to install and configure which is ideal for remote or compact environments.

e2v Technologies Design Gaia Satellite Cameras

AEP supplier, e2v technologies (uk) designed the cameras used on the Gaia Satellite, which last week transmitted the most detailed map of the night sky ever produced. It pinpoints the locations of more than one billion stars and is considered by many scientists as the most significant star chart since Galileo’s first chart in the early 17th century. For more details see the New Zealand Herald article.
