New Product: SmallBMS NG 🔋

We are excited to introduce our new product: the SmallBMS NG.
Building on the SmallBMS, the NG version is designed specifically for Victron Lithium NG batteries and includes several new features.

In addition to the familiar features of the Small BMS, such as load and charge disconnect and the pre-alarm, the SmallBMS NG now also provides detailed per-battery and per-cell measurements from all connected Lithium NG batteries, through VictronConnect.

Bluetooth is now integrated into the BMS itself, rather than in the battery. This means all batteries connect in one place, and the system is monitored from a central BMS.

Another key difference is that with Lithium NG batteries, current measurement is built into the battery. This means there’s no longer a need to add a SmartShunt for current and state of charge (SoC) data. The SmallBMS NG receives this information directly from the batteries, and displays it in VictronConnect.

The SmallBMS NG is a simple and cost-effective alternative to the upcoming VE.Bus BMS NG, ideal for systems that don’t include VE.Bus inverter/chargers.

Please note that the SmallBMS NG is not compatible with VE.Bus devices such as MultiPlus and Quattro. For these systems, the VE.Bus BMS NG is the suitable option and it will be available soon.

Android GX Wifi Display – A simple, wireless display solution for GX devices

We are glad to introduce the Android GX Wifi Display: a simple way to turn any Android phone or tablet into a wireless display for monitoring and controlling GX devices.

The app can be installed on any Android device running version 8.0 or higher, and connects to the GX device over the same Wifi network. It is ideal for compact installations, where placing a display exactly where you need it is important and running cables can be tricky.

It is also a practical solution for larger setups, where you can install multiple Android GX Wifi Displays that work independently, making it easier to monitor and control the system from different locations such as on different floors of a building or compartments of a vessel.

Before setup, the Android device must be factory reset. Once the app is installed, the device becomes a dedicated GX display and won’t be usable for other tasks. It will stay locked in this mode until another factory reset. Also keep in mind that, while the connection is wireless, the Android device still needs a permanent charging source.

This new display solution is a practical option for systems that need more flexibility than our regular display solutions.

To get started, you can watch the video below and read the Android GX Wifi Display
manual to access the QR code for downloading the app and to see the full setup instructions.
